TRAINING

Complete training services from needs analysis and development to delivery and one-on-one coaching.

MEDIATION

We offer a complete mediation service designed to meet the special requirements of the department including:

  • Preparation of Agreement to Mediate prior to commencement of mediation;
  • Use of an impartial interest based approach designed to achieve a final resolution;
  • Identification and inclusion of needed individuals/parties during mediation process;
  • Preparation of Terms of Settlement;
  • Briefing of responsible Officer/Manager and/or Union Reps where approval of Terms of Settlement is required;
  • Complete knowledge and compliance with
    • Access to Information Act
    • Privacy Act
    • National Archives Act

INVESTIGATION

Our investigation services are comprehensive and designed to provide a complete service tailor-made to the needs of the client

  • Assistance in preparation of Terms of Reference;
  • Initial briefing of convening authority and HA;
  • HA services where internal HAs are not available;
  • Comprehensive Situational Assessment;
  • An unbiased and interest-based approach to conducting investigations, ensuring all parties are fully heard;
  • Identification and review of systemic problems which may exist within a unit/group which can contribute to complaint;

Comprehensive knowledge of and compliance with:

  • Access to Information Act;
  • Privacy Act;
  • National Archive Act;
  • Criminal Code of Canada;
  • Human Rights Legislation;
  • Treasury Board Policy;
Note:  Investigations are conducted and written in accordance with the Privacy Act. No additional severing is required.

  • Comprehensive reports including executive summaries, general overview, allegation by allegation review, conclusions and, where requested, recommendations.
  • Recommendations designed to rectify the root cause of the complaint, if warranted.
  • Debriefing session with convening authority and HA.

    SPECIALTY INVESTIGATIONS

    Workplace Reviews:

    • Required to address systemic issues and symptoms (i.e. high turn over and absenteeism, low morale and productivity, etc.);
    • Investigation considers opinions, attitudes, feelings and motives, not just facts;

    • Broad based process designed to address ingrained structural or organisational problems.

    Situational Assessments:
